Collaborating with Unri, Riau Regional Police Encourages Acceleration of Campus Herd Immunity

A total of 2,400 vaccine doses were provided, targeting the community, students and the community around campus.

The mass vaccination on the Unri campus was attended directly by the Deputy Chief of the Riau Regional Police, Brigadier General Tabana Bangun Msi, accompanied by the main officials of the Riau Regional Police as well as the chancellor and the campus, taking the location at the Unri Panam Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Since morning the vaccine participants have been present in an orderly manner and look enthusiastic, dominated by students.

Deputy Chief of Riau Regional Police, Brigadier General Tabana Bangun, said that this mass vaccination was a collaboration between the Regional Police and Unri. The police have also carried out similar things with other parties, with the aim of accelerating the achievement of vaccination targets to establish herd immunity, so that the spread of Covid-19 can be reduced.

“This is one of our joint efforts in dealing with Covid-19 in Riau, especially among the community, students and the community around the Unri campus. “We thank the community for holding this activity,” said the one-star general during his review.

Brigadier General Tabana Bangun emphasized that accelerating the provision of vaccines to the public, including students, aims to establish group immunity.

“We hope that this can be achieved in society. “Vaccination is also a collaboration between various groups, not just campuses,” he assured.

According to him, Covid-19 also has a big impact on the world of education, including universities where students cannot be active in the face-to-face teaching and learning process. Therefore, accelerating vaccination is of course very important to support learning on campus.

“The implementation of education, especially universities, is hampered, so vaccination needs to be carried out. It is hoped that it can form a herd community on campus. “So that face-to-face activities can run normally again,” said Brigadier General Tabana Bangun.

He believes that the acceleration of vaccination has had an impact in reducing the rate of spread of Covid-19, where in recent weeks the number of patients infected with Corona has decreased to below 100 per day.

“As of yesterday, in Riau it was already below 100. We are trying and continuing to pray, hopefully Riau can minimize the spread of Covid and activities will return to normal soon,” he hoped.

In line with that, Unri Chancellor Aras Mulyadi fully supports the acceleration of vaccines driven by the Riau Regional Police. Moreover, today there were 2,400 doses given to his party.

“We will finish administering the vaccine today. “Where 70 percent is for students and the other 30 percent is for teaching staff and some of the surrounding community,” he said.

“We really appreciate that one of the readiness for face-to-face learning is the percentage of vaccinations. “Currently, the percentage of vaccination rate at Unri with the number of teaching staff is already 75 percent, students 35 percent out of 35 thousand people,” continued Aras Mulyadi. Pekanbaru City PPKM Extended, Pekanbaru City Education Office Says Schools Cannot Open Face-to-Face During PPKM Level IV

PEKANBARU – The extension of the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level IV in Pekanbaru City means that face-to-face schooling cannot be held yet. The teaching and learning process will still be carried out online for the next 14 days.

Head of the Pekanbaru City Education Service (Disdik), Ismardi Ilyas, said that schools could not open during PPKM level IV. He appealed to teachers to provide easy methods for online learning.

“I urge teachers to provide a simple curriculum. “So don’t use K13 (2013 Curriculum),” said Ismardi via the Pekanbaru City Government’s official website, Tuesday (24/8/2021).

According to him, if the K13 curriculum is used in an online learning method, it is quite difficult for students to understand because the delivery of material is limited via virtual.

This makes it difficult to deliver material because students and teachers do not meet directly. Because of this online system, teachers often use Google Class Room applications and WhatsApp groups in delivering learning material.
